Overview
This course is designed for certified freedivers who want to become more capable, more relaxed, and more independent in the water. At this level, training goes beyond basic exposure and core skills. The focus shifts toward better technique, improved rescue ability, greater awareness, and more confident depth diving.

Course Structure
1. Theory
Build a deeper understanding of freediving, including training concepts, safety awareness, and the principles behind more efficient diving. Find out about lung capacity, Mammalisan Dive Response and how to freefall.
2. Confined Water
Two confined water sessions, in which you will improve your static breathhoeld, refine your dynamics technique and increase your distance to build confidence. In WAVE2 you will also learn a new discipline: no fins diving (DNF). In AIDA3 you will practice your first self-designed CO2 table in the water. Rescue, safety and buddying skills practice.
3. Open Water
In four open water sessions you will improve your technique and comfort, apply your knowledge about dive progression and practice freefalling for the first time. In WAVE2 you will practice No fins for depth (CNF) for the first time. We will also teach you more awareness about deeper equalisation. You’ll also practice a series of self -rescue and buddying and safety drills- and learn how to tow an unconscious diver.
Requirements
- A recognised beginner freediving certification is required
- You should already be comfortable in the water and on the line
- You should be medically fit to dive
- 16 years with parental consent
Performance Standard
Advanced training is about more than reaching a number, our goal is to help you become a confident, safe diver who others want to dive with.
You will be asked to complete an online exam and we guide you to reach minimum breath-hold, distance, depth and rescue goals.
If some requirements take more time to practice, you will be certified for the level you are at and you can continue your training.
FAQ
Do I need any previous certification?
Yes. This course is designed for students who have already completed a beginner-level freediving course. We also recommend to only start the advanced course once you dive comfortaby to around 18m. Before then, we think coaching sessions will be of more benefit to you (Aida2)
Is this suitable for first-timers?
No. This is an advanced course intended for students progressing from a beginner certification.
Will I train in both pool and open water?
Yes, however, in Tioman we practice pool disciplnies in confined water in the ocean.
What is the difference between AIDA3 and Wave 2?
